DFG is the national organisation working to promote documentary filmmaking talent and innovation throughout the UK. We offer training, information, production opportunities and special events to the documentary filmmaking community through a wide range of initiatives. Our work falls into three main strands:
- Training: From short beginners courses, to continuing professional development workshops for industry professionals, we train people in a wide range of documentary skills including camera, directing, editing, producing, and essential business skills.
- Information and resources: Through our website, dfgdocs.com, and our dedicated resources for members, we offer the most comprehensive database of contemporary British documentaries, along with reviews, tips and filmmaking guides and up-to-date information on documentary news, events and festivals in both the UK and throughout the world.
- Production: Through our sister company, Mosaic Films, we produce content for UK and overseas broadcasters, ranging from schemes for emerging filmmakers to award-winning single documentaries. A single aim links all our work: to encourage, promote and support the growth of a strong community of documentary filmmakers and audiences. |
