Activities Matthew White founded The WPA Film Library in 1986, was the first President of The Association of Commercial Stock Image Licensors (ACSIL) and served recently as the Executive Vice President for Digital Markets at National Geographic Ventures. He specializes in global business development activities for archive-based concepts in television, digital media, education, and feature films. In addition, White has developed a network of specialists in film & video restoration, research, HD transfers, rights & clearances, program development, curriculum development, HD production, program distribution, and digital asset management. Working as an archive-based "studio", this network is mobilized for large-scale film & video initiatives that repurpose archival film & video materials for new audiences. White also works to identify and preserve film & video in distressed archives, and is a member of the UN sanctioned committee, The Interorganizational Group on Archives at Risk (IAR). White has produced and developed a wide-variety of archive-based programs, and won the 1999 IDA/ABC News Source Award for Best Documentary featuring news footage. In short, Matthew White has been active in creative, market-based activities featuring film & video archives for over twenty years, and his new company, Matthew White & Assoc. LLC, is a vehicle for the creation of new programming for traditional and digital media inspired by the vast resources of the world's repositories for film & video content.
