Dramatic Liberia video in APTN Library
Extraordinary footage of rebel forces
outside the Liberian capital of Monrovia
is available through APTN Library.
The video was shot by British cameraman
James Brabazon for the Kenya-based
Camerapix agency as the rebel troops
advanced on the city. It shows heavy
fighting, casualties and the terrified
civilians in the path of the conflict.
Some of the most dramatic scenes
are of soldiers who are clearly young
children being forced into the chaotic
battle. The footage continues to show
the rebels retreating from their positions
and engaging in firefights with government
forces as they attempt to fall back.
