Reason for submission in English

Stuart (Hexstatic) sent out a focal request, which Framepool immediately picked up and began discussing options with him. As Framepool could not find exactly the type of dance footage needed, Vanessa Lewis decided to try to go right to the orginal creator of the Disco Lesson video, Ake Blomqvist. After finding the contact details Stella Waltemade, from the Framepool research team, negotiated fees and license with Ake and provided a copy of the master to Hexstatic to begin editing. This is a fantastic example of how footage regardless of the age or original format is a treasure. This is an exciting, creative and funny edit that demonstrates the endless possibilities of what one can do with footage. Both the original video and the final edit have been provided.

Brief Synopsis in English

Earthjustice’s “Top Speed 2.0” PSA bucks the trend of traditionally somber environmental commercials by taking a decidedly more hopeful attitude towards protecting our natural world. “Top Speed 2.0” opens with a stunning wildlife montage of a grizzly bear splashing in a stream, salmon leaping in the air, and a manatee gliding across a bed of sea grass—all to an upbeat instrumental track and a simple message about the power of the law in protecting our environment. Featured on NBC stations in San Francisco and New York as part of their “Going Green Week,” Earthjustice shows that you can motivate people to join your cause with a positive message.

Reason for submission in English

As the leading nonprofit environmental law firm in the US, Earthjustice believes that protecting our natural world for future generations is the greatest challenge humanity will face. With global warming now a major topic on everyone’s mind and an increasing willingness on the part of individuals, businesses and governments around the world to move towards a more sustainable future, Earthjustice’s “Top Speed 2.0” PSA capitalizes on this shift in thinking to promote a message of hope and progress.

Brief Synopsis in English

TV commercial in which fisherman performs flying tackle to take salmon off bears.

Reason for submission in English

The producer relied completely on the researcher's skill to find exactly the right shots to create this outstanding commercial. Viewers are lured by the scene setter and underwater shots before being caught off guard as a fisherman dives into frame to snatch a leaping salmon. The money shot had to contain the leaping salmon and be shot from exactly the right angle. The piece is topped off with the perfect shot of a bewildered and angry bear running along the water’s edge. Diligent research, using footage from a variety of sources, combines with new technology to deliver an ingenious commercial. In the case of the shots, the researcher endured the worst to bring the producer the best !
