Brief Synopsis in English |
Heroes Unmasked’ is a documentary series made especially for BBC2. Shot exclusively in LA, ‘Unmasked’ takes a behind the scenes look at all aspects of the global phenomenon that is Heroes. Unmasked leaves no hero unturned, with never seen before interviews, access and insight from the cast, crew and creative talent of THE televisual success story of 2007. In 'Turning Tides' for the first time, Heroes Unmasked takes a Bennet’s eye view to reveal where the web of lies and deceit all began, for that morally grey paper salesman who we love to hate. Featuring fantastic backstage footage of Bennet’s world going up in flames, ‘Turning Tides’ hears from Mr Horn Rimmed Glasses himself Jack Coleman, and his on screen friends and foes, as they share the delights and dramas of filming scenes that were as shocking for the cast as they were for the audience. |
Reason for submission in English |
With the 21 x 15 minute series of Heroes Unmasked recently coming to an end, it was felt that the series throughout became the ideal companion to Heroes. The series maintained a breadth of interest and entertainment throughout, using a range of archive in new and dramatic ways to tell the stories of the perspective of the cast and production team behind the scenes. This episode 'Turning Tides' illustrates this well, with dramatic editing, imaginative use of music and graphics to enhance the drama and emotion of the characters, whilst giving an insight into the scale and complexity of shooting Heroes, with live on set action interweaving seamlessly with the final footage. From audience feedback, Unmasked was enjoyed in equal measure to Heroes itself, giving an extra dimension to this extraordinary series and it is hoped that the use and adaptation of the archive warrants further consideration from the panel. |
