Award for Best Use of Footage in a Clip Based Entertainment Production

Award for Best Use of Footage in a Wildlife / Natural History Production

Award for Best Use of Footage in a Sport Production

Recipient - A Production Team from a broadcasting or production company that has produced a named production in which the footage content has been used intelligently. This may include, for example, a traditional methodology but beautifully put together work using footage, or an innovative approach to the use of archive. The criteria is deliberately loose, as the good productions this year may suggest themselves in a variety of ways and for a variety of reasons. The award should go to the team involved, including the Archive Researcher(s) who accessed the footage, headed by the director or producer. Supporting visual material is required.

Award for Best Use of Footage in an Advertisement

Recipient - Creative team and, or, advertising agency, including the Archive Researcher(s) involved in accessing the footage, headed by a director and production company who have made the best use of library footage in a broadcast or cinema release advert. Supporting visual material is required.

Award for Best Use of Footage in a Pop Music Video

Recipient - Creative team, including the Archive Researcher(s) involved in accessing the footage, headed by a director and production company who have made the best use of library footage in a popular music promotional video. Supporting visual material is required.

Award for Best Use of Footage in a Corporate Production

Recipient - Production team, including the Archive Researcher(s) involved in accessing the footage, headed by a director and production company who have made the best use of library footage in a Corporate production. Supporting visual material is required.

Award for Best Use of Footage in a Feature Film

Recipient - Production team, including the Archive Researcher(s) involved in accessing the footage, headed by a director and production company who have made the best use of library footage in a feature film. Supporting visual material is required.

Award for Best Use of Footage in Electronic Publishing

Recipient - Creative team, including the Archive Researcher(s) involved in accessing the footage, where the footage has been used on a website or CD ROM or any similar non-broadcast production. Supporting visual material, including web link where applicable, is required.

Award for Archive Restoration or Preservation Project

Recipient - Library. This could include investment in people for instance, digitisation, great cataloguing, traditional nitrate copying, or just splendid service to restoring or preserving archive content! Supporting visual material is required.

Award for Post Production Work on an Archive-based Production

Recipient - Facility or Post production house with a particular piece of work being cited from the qualifying period. The supporting visual material supplied should show "before and after" shots.

Award for Footage Researcher of the Year

Recipient - Researcher. The researcher associated with a noteworthy work or works broadcast or first shown during the qualifying period. Supporting visual material is required.

Award for Footage Library of the Year

Recipient - Library. A Library cited as providing a particularly good service in supplying content to a named production(s) during the qualifying year, or introducing an innovative library management project or other beneficial innovation. Supporting visual material is required.

Award for Lifetime Achievement

Recipient - A FOCAL International Member who has performed long service in the archive industry and is recognized in a general sense to have contributed to the promotion, good practice or understanding of the content industry. Any FOCAL Member can submit the name of a person supported by a statement as to why they feel the said person should be considered for this Award which is a gift of the FOCAL Executive. Supporting visual material is required.
