FOCAL Researchers Meeting

Regular FOCAL International Researchers meetings have been re-instated and are proving popular. One hosted by BBC Motion Gallery, was on the subject of Public Service Rights presented by representatives of the main UK broadcasters. This subject will also be covered at the next Libraries meeting and briefing notes on the whole matter will go on the FOCAL website in due course.

Reelin'in the Years - the world's largest music footage library - hosted the the most recent Researchers meeting which concerned music rights. A subject which fills many with horror, Kate Griffiths, Clearance Matters (right) and Gary Welch of the MCPS (left) made it all seem so easy!

The event attracted a good attendance, including leading music archive researchers from BBC Music Entertainment who have worked on many in depth series including: Folk Britannia, Dance Brittania, Brasil Brasil, Imagine: The History of the Guitar. (L-R Kathy Manners, Kal Dhillon, Jeannie Clark)
A full report will be in the next issue of Archive Zones.
