Footage Farm specialises in selling public domain footage at public domain prices. We charge a one-time buy-out fee for all markets and in perpetuity for public domain material. Once you have acquired the tapes you may use them wherever and whenever you need. Our footage comes primarily from the National Archives and the Library of Congress in Washington DC as well as incorporating the Treadwell Collection with its specialist Russian material and War footage. We also represent a small number of private collections. Our holdings cover the entire 20th century, but the bulk of the material is from 1900 - 1980s. We currently have over to 3500 hours of master material, 5000 hours of preview tapes and over to 20,000 entries in our database. We can supply your master material on any industry format and standard that you require: PAL or NTSC, DigiBeta, BetaSP, DVCam etc. If we do not have the footage on master in-house, then we arrange to have the masters duplicated for you at no extra cost. We have in London detailed information about the holdings in various collections containing Public Domain material. Although the National Archives in Washington DC does have a website, only a fraction of their collection actually appears on the site. Voted Footage Library of the Year in the FOCAL International Awards 2007.
