New Report on Intellectual Property

18 May 2011

Last November, the UK government commissioned a report on IP (intellectual property) to recommend simplifications for the laws on copyright, trademarks and patents.  This has just been published, and is available HERE for those wishing to browse the full 130 pages:    For everyone else, there is a brief summary of the conclusions HERE.

This talks about creating a copyright exchange, expedited arrangements for licesning orphan works, and providing an explicit interpretion of the law as an updated parallel to US 'Fair Use' policy.
