FREMANTLEMEDIA ENTERPRISES APPOINTS CAROLINE HART AS CONTENT CONSULTANT FOR THE THAMES TELEVISION ARCHIVE

FremantleMedia Enterprises (FME), the commercial and brand extension arm of FremantleMedia, has appointed Caroline Hart as Content Consultant to research, catalogue and digitise the Thames Television archive. Her role is to select key content from the Thames Television archive and make it more accessible to clients. Hart will report into London-based Head of Archive Sales, Gordon Craig.

In this new role Hart will be bringing the Thames Television catalogue to life, sorting through 24 years and 100,000+ hours of programming by prioritising the most relevant documentaries and programmes ranging from topics including politics, welfare, climate change and the economy. Amongst the vast array of documentaries included in Thames Television is ‘This Week/TVEye’ (1968-1992), regarded as the flagship current affairs programme of its day. With such a broad depth and range of topics, the issues covered continue to be as pertinent now as they were then. Further to these responsibilities, Hart will also be looking into the potential representation and acquisition of further catalogues for FME.

Craig commented, “We are delighted to have Caroline joining the team. She has developed an impressive network and outstanding experience over the course of her career. Her experience and expertise as a researcher, cataloguer and manager is immensely valuable to FME as we continue to modernize and delve into our Thames Television archive.”

Hart added, “After 11 years working in the footage archive industry, the timing is perfect for me to join FME, a leader within its field. My passion for content will see us re-introducing inspiring and relevant content into the marketplace.”

Hart began her career as a researcher at LWT on ‘Tarrant on TV’ and has spent the last eleven years in the footage archive industry. Following on from LWT, Hart then moved into Clip Sales where she worked at Granada Visual and later at GMTV as a Sales and Research Executive.  Caroline then returned to the research and clearance side of the business, specifically for the Advertising and Corporate sectors, working as Research Manager for Reid and Casement. She joined ITN Source in 2006 where she set up the Product Development team designing workflows and managing and overseeing the creation of the Stock Footage collection of the catalogue. Hart then took on the role of Content Manager at ITN Source, looking after the Partner relationships, new partner assessments and the negotiations and digitisation of footage from the deep archive and partner collections.
