APTN and Sharpcards Launch V-cards In UK First

10 November 2005

APTN and Sharpcards today announced the launch of V-cards to over 3 million customers on the 3 network.

Mobile media company 3 has pioneered innovative mobile services in the UK including moving video and pictures in the form of MMS messaging.

3 subscribers will be the first in the UK able to send V-cards, or video cards, from their mobiles – anytime, anywhere.

V-cards have been developed by Sharpcards, leaders in mobile E-cards using video clips from APTN’s massive library of entertaining footage.

3 subscribers will be the first in the UK who can send V-cards from their mobile priced at £1.50 – anytime, anywhere.

“V-cards takes mobile messaging to the next level” says Jonathan Smith, Director of Operations at Sharpcards. “It’s a fun and easy alternative to sending a text message.”

Simon Samuels, AP Entertainment’s Sales Manager, says “When Sharpcards approached us, we knew we had the perfect content as we hold over 1,600 bizarre & wacky clips from around the world. We initially licensed these clips to television blooper shows, but there has recently been rapid expansion into broadband & mobile platforms. The greeting card personalisation really brings them to life.”
