8 October 2009

Highlights HD Video Content, Improved Search

CNN ImageSource, where professional film, television, advertising and corporate producers from around the world license CNN footage for their productions, now provides a global, free, on demand customization service for screeners. The website, www.cnnimagesource.com, allows producers to research the CNN video archive 24-hours a day, seven days a week, from the convenience of their own desktop.

CNN ImageSource facilitates the licensing needs of professional video producers for their productions, ranging from documentaries, to television, theatrical and corporate/institutional productions. “With an expansive archive of CNN’s award-winning reporting and compelling stock footage, CNN ImageSource is in the unique position to now offer an easy-to-use website for producers to research video on their own schedule, and customize and download screener material to their desktop for free at any time,” said David Sheehan, vice president for CNN ImageSource licensing and content sales.

CNN ImageSource’s website consists of more than half a million items, including CNN-owned footage and material from more than 650 U.S. news affiliates which CNN represents. In addition to news footage, the website contains material covering science and technology, business, travel, entertainment, sports, and user-generated content from CNN’s iReport. CNN ImageSource has content in high-definition and access to CNN’s Library, containing more than three million items accumulated over nearly 30 years. As well, CNN ImageSource recently updated search functionality on the site.

CNN ImageSource continues to maintain its customer service and research assistance, while also allowing producers the ability to research CNN’s video archives on their own time as they need with its enhanced commercial website.
