Undiscovered footage at the Imperial War Museum Film and Video Archive
Industry veteran, James Barker, has recently identified two previously unknown sequences containing important 20th century historical personalities. The first shows the Soviet spy Kim Philby as The Times war correspondent in France in October 1939 and the second shows the then, Lieutenant-Colonel Montgomery (later and more famously Field Marshall), as the officer commanding the 1st Battalion Royal Warwickshire Regiment in Palestine in 1931.
Both sequences are rare as there appears to be no other footage of these individuals at these times.
