NBC
News Archive in European Marketing
Move
North America's leading television
news library, NBC News Archives, has
hired former BBC Worldwide library
business executive Jeremy Cantwell,
who will operate in a marketing and
business development role in the UK
and Europe. NBC News produces America's
top rated news programmes. Its comprehensive
footage library encompasses a wealth
of factual material from the 1930's
onwards across a wide spectrum of
worldwide political and social history
-- powerful events that define our
past as well as inspirational moments
that forever influence our future.
Library Commercial Director, Nancy
Cole said: "We are confident
that there is considerable potential
for NBC News footage in Europe. Cantwell's
presence in London will offer the
UK and European market more direct
access to the NBC News Archives, which
also includes MSNBC and Telemundo
footage. "
Cantwell spent more than 25 years
in various commercial roles with the
BBC, focusing in recent years on new
content led markets and asset exploitation
issues. He will work out of NBC News'
Bureau in Hammersmith, West London
with the title of Business Development
Manager, NBC News Library Sales. His
task will be to build volume-key account
business, and identify and consolidate
fresh content sales opportunities
in both traditional and emerging markets.
