Any piece of music you use in your production- score, original songs, jingles, karaoke, ukulele renditions of love songs, car radios, ringtones and singing parrots- is owned by someone.
Don’t let your tonal dreams be dashed by copyright issues! Learn to navigate the tricky waters of music clearance for film, television and digital projects. Included in the workshops are definitions, costs and what rights are required. The workshop will offer creative tips on how to clear music with a budget in mind. Follow up e-handouts will be provided.

About the Instructor
Elizabeth Klinck has worked as producer, researcher and clearance specialist on numerous award-winning international documentary films that have garnered Emmy, Gemini, Peabody and Academy awards. For over 20 years, Elizabeth has taught documentary research and led research and rights clearance workshops at international conferences. Elizabeth serves as a member of the FOCAL International Executive. She is a founding chairperson of the Visual Researchers’ Society of Canada and is a member of DOC and WIFT Toronto.
