BBC Earth brand debuts globally on YOUTUBE

BBC Earth, BBC Worldwide’s new international brand for all the BBC’s natural history content, today launches a dedicated channel on YouTube which will showcase the BBC’s greatest nature shows.
BBC Earth is natural history’s global guardian brand across all territories (ex-UK) and platforms including merchandise, TV and digital and is intended to provide continuity for all the BBC’s nature content whilst allowing the BBC to better engage, retain and build audiences globally in this genre. BBC Earth branding will be applied across TV stings, DVDs and BBC Nature digital products and the YouTube channel marks the first international rollout of the brand.
The BBC Earth channel will initially launch with 50 clips including, for the first time on YouTube, the Emmy and BAFTA award-winning Blue Planet. New clips will continue to be added every week going forward. The channel can be accessed at

Two of the top five most viewed videos of all time on the BBC Worldwide YouTube channel are natural history clips, demonstrating the popularity of such content and making now the ideal time to showcase classic clips.
Content that the channel will launch with, all new to YouTube, includes:

  • Blue Planet
  • Five breathtaking clips from Life of Mammals
  • Five new clips from Turtles Guide to the Pacific
  • Three new clips from Cheetahs - Fast Track to Freedom
  • Five clips that include 'Fab Facts' where a question relating to the clip is asked at the beginning - and at the end of the clip the answer is revealed.

BBC Earth aims to encourage users to subscribe to this new dedicated space on YouTube and enjoy the classic most amazing content from the BBC’s wide range of nature shows and is designed for a global audience.
In the US, the channel will also promote and support, a website where visitors can explore the best from the BBC’s Natural History Team including the latest news, videos, photos, blogs and facts.
