ITN Source signs international platform partnership with Footage.net
ITN Source has signed an international platform agreement with Footage.net, a leading resource for global footage research.
Under the terms of the partnership Footage.net customers can access over 835,000 digitised clips from the ITN Source video archive. The footage from numerous global partner collections including ITN, Thomson Reuters, Asian News International and ITV Studios, dates back to 1896 and spans a broad range of content from international news and events, to entertainment, music, wildlife and natural history.
The agreement will offer Footage.net customers the ability to search, view and download high quality footage from ITNSource.com. And following the digitisation of the ITN Source archive and continued digitisation of selected partner material, a further 9,000 clips of digitised material will also be made available to users every month.
Domenick Propati, President of Footage.net said: "Having ITN Source join our search programme has long been an ambition. Its archive touches every major news story of the television age, and much more. Adding the ITN Source footage to the screening clips we already offer both improves our offering with some fantastic footage, and gives ITN Source a gateway into the multitude of potential licensees who use our platform."
“We are delighted to be partnering with Footage.net. As one of the world’s leading footage search engines, the partnership strengthens our international presence opening up our extensive collections to new audiences,” said Andy Williams, Managing Director at ITN Source.
A new service from ITN Source for broadcast quality IMX30 video files to be digitally downloaded direct to edit suites from ITNSource.com is also available to Footage.net customers. The service is an alternative to tape, reducing transfer fees and delivery time.
