London, UK – 8th October 2014 – FOCAL International, the Federation of Commercial Audio-visual Libraries, launches its call for submissions to the twelfth annual FOCAL International Awards, to be presented in association with AP Archive on 21 May, 2015. The deadline for creative professionals worldwide to submit their 'best use of footage' or 'best restoration work', premiered in 2014, is 1st December, 2014.
The FOCAL International Awards continue to be the leading and most complete set of awards for the global footage business showcasing the contribution made to the global production industry by archivists, film libraries, researchers and technicians, as well as the work done to restore and preserve these irreplaceable assets. From high profile former winners like Martin Scorsese, Alex Gibney, Serge Bromberg, Julien Temple, Vladimir Opela and Rick Prelinger, to lesser known but worthy producers from around the world, the broad list of award categories ensures that the power and impact of filmmaking in all its varied forms, as well as the critical role of library archive and stock footage in the creative process is acknowledged.

All awards will be presented the evening of the 21 May 2015 at a glittering award ceremony at the Lancaster London Hotel. The qualifying period is productions premiered in 2014 and entry is via the FOCAL website http://www.focalint.org/focal-international-awards/2015/the-focal-international-awards-2015 until the closing date 1st December 2014.
