We are sad to report that former Visnews Library Manager and co-founder of FOCAL International Pam Turner died on Tuesday 11 November. Her family reports that she passed away peacefully.
FOCAL International will run a full obituary in the Spring edition of Archive Zones journal - do please send any anecdotes and fond memories to email@example.com. Meanwhile you might like to read the article printed in Archive Zones in 1999 which pays tribute to Pam on her retirement and being given FOCAL's Lifetime Achievement Award.
Her funeral will be held at 10.15am next Thursday November 20th at Woking Crematorium. No flowers, but donations to AgeUK Surrey will be welcome. Messages can also be sent to her son Ian at firstname.lastname@example.org
What sad news – I worked with Pam at Visnews back in the 70’s, she was a lovely lady and I have fond memories of trips to Cannes for MIP-TV when, after years of being confined in the library at Park Royal, Pam was launched onto the ‘global stage’ and was the most brilliant ambassador for the company!
R.I.P. dear lady.

...so very very saddened to hear about Pam's death. She was just one of the best. As a friend, colleague and competitor. And she and David Wratten helped make FOCAL what it is today in every way. We were partners every step of the way for those first 8 years. I'll have a drink for her tonight...

That's really sad to hear about Pam - she helped me so much in my early days at the IWM.
