ITN Source takes a leading role in The Damned United, The Soloist and Looking for Eric
ITN Source has supplied a raft of footage from its vast archive for one of the biggest British films of the year, The Damned United. The movie, starring Michael Sheen, includes fifteen minutes worth content plucked from the Reuters, ITN and Granada collections, all represented by ITN Source.
Archive clips used in the feature include a special edition of the Granada programme Calendar concentrating on Brian Clough’s move to Leeds as well as news reports from ITN around Nottingham Forest’s European Cup win.
ITN Source has contributed to several films in the past twelve months including the Martin Scorsese directed Shine a Light, Grant Gee’s critically acclaimed Joy Division and the BAFTA award winning This is England. ITN Source footage can also be seen in Hollywood blockbuster, The Watchmen and the forthcoming Jamie Foxx and Robert Downey JR film The Soloist as well as the Ken Loach directed Looking for Eric set for release in June this year.
Dan Mills, Business Development Manager for Film & Entertainment, ITN Source said: “Film is increasingly becoming a key growth area for our business. As studios look to reduce expenditure, archive content is a fantastic way to keep costs down and add real value, time and context to a feature film.”
