ITN Source (formerly ITN Archive), the world’s leading aggregator of moving image content, today launches its advanced new digital website allowing users to view and download iconic footage online. The site also includes an innovative ‘Concepts’ section aimed at the creative community, designed to provide an accessible and inspiring system for navigating ITN Source’s extensive catalogues to find the right content for the right creative idea.
From today, visitors to www.itnsource.com will be able to view and download for free, several hundred hours of recently digitised iconic content from ITN Source’s 700,000 hours of material. The video is embedded within the shotlists and will be accompanied by keyframes and a ‘slider’ to set date ranges in the advanced search page, making searching easier, quicker and more fun to use. With over 10 hours of new digital material being added everyday, including news content from ITN and Reuters, customers can literally download yesterday’s news, today.
The innovative new ‘Concepts’ section features individual clips that have been carefully selected by a team of creative experts covering a variety of genres, themes and moods extracted from across ITN Source’s extensive moving image libraries. The growing collection of handpicked clips has been creatively key-worded to cover literal and more abstract meanings, with 20 primary concepts arranged in 8 groups, including: culture and society; emotion and expression; appearance, motion, scale and time; science and technology.
Other exciting new features include Project Areas where customers can set up Clip Bins for individual jobs, so they can select, save and order clips online. Customers can also send messages to their project partners, invite other users to view their selected footage, add comments and rate clips, making it one of the most advanced digital and user-friendly content resources available.
ITN worked with LBi, Europe’s only complete full service digital agency, to integrate the back end archive databases and make them accessible from a user-friendly online interface.
Sue Thexton, Managing Director, ITN Source said: “ITN Source are delighted to unveil our brand new digital website. Using the latest digital technology, we can now offer customers the convenience of watching and downloading the latest news and iconic content at the touch of a button, whilst the Concepts section will give our creative customers a one-stop shop for accessing inspirational content packages. Today’s launch confirms ITN Source’s ambition to become the most advance digital video source in the world and realises ITN’s drive to deliver right content, right now.”
Darren Gerry, Client Manager, LBi added: “This project caps an incredibly exciting year in our collaboration with ITN Source. The ability to easily and quickly find the right content from such an extensive archive represents a huge step forward for content providers.”
