A chance to get advice from professionals in the film and television industry on the production of historical documentaries.
To coincide with the Sixth Imperial War Museum Student Film Festival, the IWM will be hosting two one-day symposiums (London and Manchester) where established professionals from the film and television industry will advise on the production of historical documentaries. Sessions will include developing and pitching ideas to both regional and national broadcasters; researching and clearing rights for archive film; the issue of ethics and historical accuracy in the use of archive film and creative approaches to documentary film-making. The programme will also be of interest to those involved in general documentary production and students exploring the theoretical aspects of film and television.
Full programme details for both Classes will appear on the respective sections of the Museum's website (www.iwm.org.uk).
