ZDF Footage Ranks No. 9 in German Dancefloor Charts

ZDF Archive's footage in "Team X-treme" by Mayday Techno Hymn reaches No 9 in German Dancefloor Charts

Today this year's techno hymn of the MAYDAY movement, "Team X-treme" by Members of Mayday, has made its way to number nine in the German dancefloor charts.

The accompanying video clip was produced using footage from ZDF productions, thus illustrating in dramatic fashion the wide variety of possible applications for ZDF extracts.

The tradition of the MAYDAY parties dates back to the year 1991. That was when a party entitled MAYDAY was organised, to help raise funds to rescue the German youth radio station DT 64, which was in financial difficulties. As a result of the sensational success, which has been repeated each year, the perfectly organised MAYDAY parties have been held each year since then on 30th April, in the Dortmund Westfalen Hall. The motto of MAYDAY on 30.4.2004 will be "Team X-treme". Coming as it did at the beginning of the great wave of techno euphoria that gripped Germany, MAYDAY was definitely the right event staged in the right place at the right time. MAYDAY developed the sound of the age to its logical conclusion, assembling a vast crowd on the huge dance-floor and redefining the term 'rave'. An atmosphere like this, which has never been achieved before, depends on four basic elements: the best line-up, sound quality, decor and organisation. New software in all digital controllers, specially developed for MAYDAY, makes it possible for any hall to achieve full digital technical effect and a final performance equivalent to approximately 750,000 watts. The best sound engineers are, of course, selected for this purpose, while the latest and most durable systems worldwide are regularly tested. From the very start the light concept of MAYDAY has been unsurpassed; breath-taking multi-point laser shows are part of the standard repertoire, and they are constantly subjected to further development. The video projections at MAYDAY are among the most extraordinary examples of optical representation possible. Thus the DJs and the live bands merge with the dance-floor itself to form a multi-media total work of art composed of light tapestry, full-scale image projection and video screens.
